The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has decided to investigate a complaint concerning a Civil Court judge.
The commission members met on Wednesday, where they reached the decision to probe a disciplinary issue involving Judge Ali Naseer.
JSC also noted that it has received complaints regarding how “some judges” at the Civil Court are handling cases so as to conclude the highest number of cases or to clear the backlog. JSC highlighted their actions raise questions over whether justice is being served.
Furthermore, the commission has decided to inform the Department of Judicial Administration (DJA) to review the Supreme Court’s decision to establish divisions to handle cases. JSC said that it does not believe that “this is the best procedure.”
