Minister of Health, Abdulla Ameen has stated that Fonadhoo island, nearby Male' City, will be used for a quarantine zone in the case of a coronavirus outbreak.

While speaking at a press conference held regarding measures taken against a coronavirus outbreak, the minister stated that an isolation facility has been set up in Hulhumale' at an unused preschool for treatment for suspected cases of coronavirus infection.

Speaking on behalf of Health Protection Agency (HPA) at the conference, Dr Fathmath Nazla revealed that treatment facilities at Hulhumale' have been arranged for confirmed cases alongside preparations for severity every level of an outbreak.

Dr Nazla further stated that the same set up will be arranged at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) as well.
