Dhivehi Premier League: a resounding victory for TC
TC won with a score of 4 – 0
TC went against Foakaidhoo FC at the Galolhu Stadium
TC Sports Club has secured a resounding win after beating Foakaidhoo Football Club in the ongoing Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League.
With the excellent scores from football star Ali Ashfaq who recently returned to the team during the transfer market and Ishan Ibrahim, TC won the match with an effortless score of 4 – 0.
Into the beginning of the match held at Galolhu Football Stadium on Friday night, TC players showed an excellent attacking game and took the lead at the 14th minute.
After the first score by Ishan, the winning team continued targeting attacks to Foakaidhoo team.
At the 33rd minute, Ishan scored a second goal and the second half ended 2 – 0.
Although Ashfaq got several golden chances to score into the second half, his attempts were thwarted. However, he was able to score at the 68th and 82nd minute of the game.
Ashfaq was dubbed Man of the Match.
The winning team’s coach Shaazlee expressed satisfaction with the results, stating that the current players are capable of bringing a good result to the table.
Foakaidhoo coach revealed that the result is expected owing to the current condition of the team.
Maziya Sports and Recreation Club took the championship trophy on 20 January, having had a major lead when the league began. As such, Maziya secured the top spot in the table with 29 points out of the first 12 matches and remained at the top spot with 50 points after the finals. While Club Eagles remained at the second spot with 33 points after the finals, TC has moved up the table to the second spot with 37 points and Eagles at its tail with 36 points.
Foakaidhoo FC is sixth on the table with 20 points.
