Mazina Abdul Raheem awarded Presidential Scholarship
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih presented Mazina with her awards and the scholarship on Thursday
The scholarship was conferred during a ceremony on Thursday morning
The Presidential Scholarship has officially been presented to this year’s winner, Mazina Abdul Raheem.
During a meeting held at the President’s Office on Thursday morning, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih presented Mazina with her awards and the scholarship.
Mazina began her primary education from Madhrasathul Arabiyyathul Islamiyya and completed her GCE O’Levels, having obtained A plus scores in 13 out of the 15 subjects she studies. She scored an A grade in the other two subjects.
Further, Mazina was dubbed the best all-round student from the school during 2018 and she has also been recognized for the many achievements in Quran competitions.
Some of her other achievements which assisted in her winning the scholarship include, the president’s medal for memorizing the Holy Quran which awarded her the Hafizah title in 2019.
Her scholarship was awarded in the presence of her parents and the meeting was also joined by the Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Ibrahim.
The president has encouraged the scholarship winner to pursue further studies and push herself to achieve great things. Mazina is set to pursue further studies in Usul ad-Din at Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt.
