A prisoner who fled from Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has been arrested.

Aisaru Naseem, serving three years for drug charges, fled during a routine health screening at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

Maldives Corrections disclosed that the prisoner was taken to IGMH for a routine health screening on Thursday morning when he reportedly fled from the hospital at 8:24 am.

Authorities shortly announced the disappearance of the 24-year-old and he was apprehended by the Maldives Police Service (MPS) around 02:10 pm this afternoon.
