Ali Shah, the lawyer who was arrested on allegations of obstructing the police investigation into Yameen Rasheed's brutal murder has been released.

RaajjeMV understands that the police had imposed several stipulations on him, though the nature of them are yet unclear.

Police had on Sunday night apprehended the lawyer, who is reportedly representing those currently in detention for the murder, for obstructing the investigation

The police announced in a tweet that Ali Shah had been arrested from his home for said obstruction of the police investigation.

However, they had not revealed any details about the nature of the obstruction.

Police have arrested a total of six suspects for the brutal murder, though they are yet to reveal any names.

RaajjeMV can attest to the identity of the first suspect to be apprehended: Mohamed Dhifran, who is 25-year-old was arrested before officers searched his home.

At around 02:56 am on Sunday, Yameen Rasheed, who was vocal about several political and social issues, was found in the stairwell of his home with over 20 stab wounds to his chest, neck, and head.
