Mufti Menk to give sermon on importance of earning halal wealth on Friday
The cleric arrived in the country on Tuesday afternoon
Mufti's first lecture will be held at the carnival stage in the capital city at 08:15 pm on Tuesday night
The second lecture, addressing "Why Muslims leave Islam?" is scheduled for Wednesday night at 08:15 pm at Nooraani School of Addu City.
Mufti will deliver the sermon preceding Friday prayers at the Islamic Centre in the capital city regarding the importance of earning halal wealth and spending it in halal ways.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has announced that internationally renowned cleric, Mufti Menk, is set to deliver the sermon before Friday prayers.

During a press conference held on Tuesday, Minister of Islamic affairs, Dr Ahmed Zahir shared the details of Mufti Menk's visit to the Maldives. While the cleric arrived in the country on Tuesday afternoon, the minister stated that Mufti's first lecture will be held at the carnival stage in the capital city at 08:15 pm on Tuesday night and that the topic of the lecture will be regarding the importance of religious rehabilitation.

As such, the second lecture, addressing "Why Muslims leave Islam?" is scheduled for Wednesday night at 08:15 pm at Nooraani School of Addu City.

The cleric will then leave for Khulhudhufushi city to deliver a sermon on whether there are different interpretations of Islam, which will be held at Haa Dhaal atoll education centre on Thursday night at 08:15 pm.

Additionally, Mufti will deliver the sermon preceding Friday prayers at the Islamic Center in the capital city regarding the importance of earning halal wealth and spending it in halal ways. The ministry states that Friday sermons around the country will focus on this topic.

Moreover, the ministry disclosed that a youth discussion forum is set to be held at the Islamic Center from 08:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Friday night as well with another forum with a panel of religious scholars scheduled for 18th January.

The ministry has appealed for the as many people from the public, civil servants and youth to attend these events.
