Maldives Police Service (MPS) has issued a search for a hit-and-run suspect on Thursday.
Police revealed that being sought is an individual who fled an accident scene after hitting a 56-year-old man who was crossing the road adjacent to Masjid Al-Furqan, and fleeing.
While officers sought out the vehicle through CCTV footage, it has been towed and police are currently seeking out the hit-and-run suspect.
The man who was hit by the motorcycle attained serious injuries to his head and was rushed to Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for treatment immediately.
Officers cited doctors having revealed that the man’s condition is not serious.
Police have launched further investigations into the case.
