The night was held in Dharubaaruge in commemoration of the station's 9th anniversary

Raajje Television has concluded it’s 9th anniversary celebrations, after rewarding exceptional staff from several departments for their commendable services for the station.

While RaajjeTV Night was held in commemoration of the day in Dharubaaruge on Sunday night, First Lady Fazna Ahmed attended the event as the Chief Guest.

The ceremony saw the rewarding of several staff, some for multiple awards, in various categories.

As such, the station’s senior video editor Ahmed Siraj took home the title of “Staff of the Year”, with on-air operator Aishath Shan winning the “Most Hopeful Staff” of the year award.

Other awards include the “Most Popular Writer Among Viewers”, with five million hits for her articles, which was conferred to video journalist Zunana Zalif, who also won the “Most Written Articles” award having written 1,740 articles within the past year.

The “Most Popular Article” award was conferred to video journalist Laisa Ahmed who got over 100,000 views for her article about an elderly woman begging for help to rescue a paralyzed elderly man during the chemical warehouse fire in September.

Simaha Naseem, RaajjeTV’s Station In-charge won the “Best Article” award for her article on abducted and consecutively murdered journalist Ahmed Rilwan’s mother’s last words to him.

Three employees were given the “Best Attendance” awards for never clocking in late or calling in sick over the past year; Siraj, Shan and Inventory Officer Gamarudheen Fahmy.

Further, the “Best Production” of the past year was awarded to Senior Video Journalist Amna Imad, for her Ramadan program “Rashun”.

While Senior Videographer Ahmed Saajid was given the “Best Cameraman” title, Siraj took home the “Best Editor” for 2019 title and Shan was conferred the “Best On-air Operator” award.

The station’s executive board also took home a few titles, with Human Resources Manager Rifqa Abdul Wahhab winning the “Best Presenter” and Deputy Chief Operating Officer Naazmee Saeed winning the “Best News Anchor” award.

Other awards include “Best Photo Story” won by News Director Abdulla Naseer, “Innovation of the Year” won by Chief Technical Officer Ismail Jina and “Five Years of Service” awards which were conferred to News Director of International Affairs, Aishath Shaany, Assistant Chief Cameraman Adam Zareer, Head of Programmes and Coordination, Amir Saleem and Gamarudheen.

While RaajjeTV has been giving Umrah Pilgrimage trips to its staff since 2017, three employees were given trips at Sunday’s ceremony; Zareer, Amir and Gamarudheen.

Further, awards were also conferred to Dr. Aishath Ali Naaz, Sheikh Hussain Rasheed Ahmed, Sheikh Fayyaz, Dr. Usama as well as Ahmed Riyaz from FitZone for their voluntary services for the station.

All of the staff who won awards were presented with gifts from several sponsors of the channel including Happy Market, HSC Euro Unlimited, telecommunications providers Ooredoo Maldives and Dhiraagu, Maxcom Technologies, Click Computer as well as Baiskoafu.
