A man has been deported after being caught attempting to enter Maldives using a counterfeit passport.
Maldives Immigration's border security caught the man attempting to enter Maldives using a counterfeit passport, last week.
An official told RaajjeMV that the 31-year-old man was apprehended on Thursday from Velana International Airport, adding that he has since been deported under the set regulations.
Highlighting that there is “no way” to enter the country using a counterfeit passport, immigration revealed that there are strict laws set for such matters. They refrained from revealing where the man was from.
While 2019 is nearing an end, thus far this year 12 individuals have been apprehended for attempting to enter the country using counterfeit passports.
