The Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Maldives, Yury B. Materiy has paid a courtesy call on President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih at the President’s Office on Thursday morning.
During his visit, discussions between the ambassador and the president touched on boosting the long-standing relationship between the two nations and especially focused on building bilateral ties and developmental collaboration in the sectors of tourism, education, trade, and commerce.
The President also emphasized efforts to bolster future relations and referred to the recently concluded Visa Waiver Agreement to express his commitment to fortifying the existing tourism cooperation and people-to-people connections between the Maldives and Russia.
He further conveyed his appreciation to the Russian Government for its continued support and assistance in the international sphere.
The call concluded with the President and the Ambassador reiterating their commitment to building future relations.
