Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Fest 2019 has officially been introduced to the Maldives, for the first time.

Organized by Women in Tech Maldives, the festival was officially inaugurated by First Lady Fazna Ahmed during a function held at Hulhumalé Central Park on Friday evening.

The festival aims to create awareness among the society regarding the opportunities made available for them in the region and specially to inspire and encourage young girls to join the field of science and technology.

The two-day festival is being held from 8-9 November and showcases a variety of STEM activities and events.

The festival revolves around everything related to science and technology and provides a platform for the youth community to feature their skills.

It also vendors to showcase products and services related to the field of science and technology.

The non-profit organization works to inspire empower and celebrate women in the field.

During the inauguration, First Lady Fazna toured the stalls and observed the services and line of products made available at the first-of-its-kind festival.
