Councilors of Isdhoo island in Laamu atoll have briefed Vice President Faisal Naseem on the urgent developmental needs and concerns facing the island constituents.
During a meeting with the Vice President on Wednesday morning at the President’s Office, councilors briefed him on the concerns and issues surfacing for their constituents especially in healthcare and education facilities.
Further, they highlighted that the island urgently requires the initiation of infrastructural development projects such as road and harbor development.
Councilors went on to highlight the urgent requirements of their residents and shared concerns with ongoing development projects in the island.
Having listened to the concerns raised by Isdhoo councilors, VP Naseem updated them on the projects included for the island in the government budget for this year and gave his assurance that the government will be taking the required action after thorough discussions are held with relevant ministries to tackle the issues at hand.
