The Startup Weekend Maldives 2019 is set to launch in November, revealed local telecommunications provider Dhiraagu.

In partnership with Spark Hub Maldives, the Startup Weekend will be held from 15 – 17 November.

Dubbed the "perfect" opportunity to build a "great network" over the course of a weekend, the program will see developers, designers, hustlers, creative artists, founders as well as aspiring entrepreneurs on one platform, exploring new ways to build a stronger network and aims to educate and inspire young entrepreneurs.

Registration has been opened via the Maldives Startup Weekendwebsite.

While previous editions have been held in the past, the program revolves around fostering new and innovative business ideas, building teams and mentoring with over 10 mentors and 50 participants who may share business ideas throughout the course of the program.

Participants may also learn basic skills in developing innovative ideas that have the potential of transforming into a budding business, and will be educated on the value of teamwork as well.

The telecom provider’s support towards the startup culture and similar initiatives such as Angelhack, stems from the company’s aim to better provide opportunities for the younger community to discover their full potential through innovation, revealed the company.
