The newly appointed ambassador for the Republic of Maldives to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mohamed Khaleel has met with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to present his credentials.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the presentation of credentials took place at a special ceremony held on Wednesday in Riyadh.
Ambassador Khaleel delivered a word of thanks to King Salman on behalf of President Solih for his leadership role in building closer ties within the Islamic Ummah and gave reassurance of the Maldives' commitment to build a strong relationship between the two countries.
In turn, King Salman sent his regards to President Solih and welcomed Ambassador Khaleel to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Minister of State and Cabinet Member of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Ibrahim Bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf were also in attendance during Wednesday's ceremony.
