Newly appointed Non-Resident Ambassador to Bhutan, Aishath Mohamed Didi has presented her credentials to the King of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck.
At a ceremony held at Tashichhodzongc on Thursday, Ambassador Didi presented her Letter of Credence and expressed her pleasure in having the opportunity to work alongside Bhutan to strengthen existing cordial ties between the two countries.
Ambassador Didi went on to extend warmest greetings to the people of the kingdom from the people and President of Maldives, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

Expressing her commitment to take the relations between Bhutan and Maldives to new heights, the newly accredited ambassador assured that people-to-people contact will be increased.
Further, cultural exchanges and cooperation on mutually beneficial areas for development including tourism will be enhanced, said Didi.
A courtesy call was also paid by the ambassador to Prime Minister Lyonchhen Dr. Lotay Tshering and Minister of Foreign Affairs Lyonpo Damcho Dorji on the occasion.
Discussions were held on mutually beneficial areas for cooperation between both countries during her meeting with the Bhutanese Prime Minister.
