5,000 runners register for second Ooredoo color run of 2019

The first color run of the year was held in Addu City during June

Ooredoo Maldives’ celebrated event, the color run set to be held Hulhumalé on 29 November, has received 5,000 registrations,

The local telecommunications provider revealed that by the time the deadline to register for the run expired on Thursday, they had received 5,000 applications to join the color run.

Alongside the run, participated by masses of enthusiastic runners that increase every year, a kite flying activity and music show are also to be hosted on the same day, a Friday.

The event aims to promote healthier lifestyles and thousands from different age groups participate to either run, jog or walk the five-kilometer every year. The organizer promises the event to be fun and worthwhile, even for beginners. For a splash of fun colors, each kilometer is separated with a “color station” and every participant can finish the race at their desired pace, as it is not a timed race.

In order to make it more exciting, Ooredoo will confer prizes for those who show up in creative costumes as well as the ones who finish the race first.

Details of partners of the event will be shared within the coming week, revealed the telecom giant. However, they are hosting the event in partnership with Unix Sporting.

This is the second color run being hosted this year, with the first one having been hosted in Addu City in June where 2,000 runners participated.

Ooredoo’s Assistant Manager of Public Relations Noora Ibrahim Zahir revealed that the event was a massive success and that it received immense public praise.
