Vice President Faisal Naseem has discussed development visions and efforts with councilors of Kinolhas island, Raa atoll.
During the meeting held at the President’s Office on Monday morning, councilors shared concerns pertinent to the progress of the island as well as issues and needs of the community.
Some of the issues shared include not having a harbor on the island, challenges surfacing due to the project of establishing sewerage services on the island, being at a standstill.
Sharing their vision to develop a special park for children under the name “Ibn Battuta Manzil”, councilors noted their hope that the park will portray the rich history of Islam in the country, which particularly relates to the island.
Commending the efforts undertaken by the council to improve the overall well-being of the island community, the Vice President emphasized the importance of prioritizing the education and development of future generations.
Also, VP Naseem assured the councilors that the government will be taking the required action after thorough discussions with relevant authorities in order to tackle the issues at hand.
