World Tourism Day celebrations kicked off in Vaavu atoll, on Thursday night.

Vice President Faisal Naseem was in attendance at the commemorative festivities, which began with a cultural dinner night hosted in Keyodhoo island.

A music show and entertainment items, a bonfire and fireworks were followed by the dinner night.

The festivities included a video presentation on the occasion of World Tourism Day, celebrated annually on 27 September.

Minister of Tourism, Ali Waheed was also in attendance and festivities are to continue into Friday as well.
