The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment has contracted Brawny Brothers, a private company to supply equipment needed for the construction of children’s parks in 12 islands.

At a signing ceremony on Thursday, Minister Ahmed Mahloof signed on behalf of the ministry and Managing Director of Brawny Brothers signed on behalf of the company.

While the project is estimated to cost MVR one million, the company has been contracted to finish the job within 45 days.

The ministry revealed that they have sent park sets to seven islands so far and 30 more are in the bidding process.

Youth Ministry is yet to reveal which islands the parks are being built in.

Under the ministry’s plan to construct children’s parks across the nation, work is currently underway to build them in around 50 islands.

Further, the ministry revealed that the ministry will not discriminate between islands based on their population, when building the parks.
