Speaker and former President Mohamed Nasheed
Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has stated that Speaker and former President Mohamed Nasheed is not in any immediate danger.
In a press release on Monday, MNDF stated that they work with the police service to guarantee the safety of people under their protection, based on the level of immediate danger.
MNDF stated that their assessment has not shown that Nasheed is in any danger but that they are ready to increase security if requested.
MNDF also denied Nasheed’s recent claim that the defence force had told him that the police service was monitoring him.
