President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed Ali Hashim as Governor of Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA).

At separate meetings on Sunday, President Solih also appointed Ali Shareef as member of the Judicial Services Commission (JSC).

President Solih presented the letter of appointment to Ali Hashim on Sunday at the President’s Office. Hashim had served as Minister of Finance from 2008 to 2010.

The President also presented the letter of appointment to Ali Shareef, following which the newly appointed member took his oath of office in front of Supreme Court Justice Abdul Ghanee Mohamed.

The President appointed Ali Shareef in accord with the powers granted to him under Article 158 (d) of the Maldivian Constitution.
