This is the first time the South Asian Speakers Summit is being held in Maldives

A special dinner was hosted by Parliament Speaker Nasheed at Bandos Island Resort

Parliament Speaker and Former President Mohamed Nasheed has hosted a special banquet in honor of the participants who arrived in Maldives for the Inter-Parliamentary Union’s 4th edition of the South Asian Speakers Summit being hosted in Maldives.

The banquet, held in Bandos Island Resort on Sunday night was attended by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

The meeting is being participated by Maldives and the remaining SAARC member nations and focuses on discussions on Achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs).

The summit commenced on Sunday and will proceed till 2 September.
