Thaa Atoll Councillors have briefed Vice President Faisal Naseem on concerns and frequent issues raised by the atoll constituents.

The Vice President on Sunday met with members of Thaa Atoll Council at the President’s Office.

During the meeting, Councillors briefed the Vice President on the concerns that have risen for the constituent recently and also shared some requirements of the community.

Shedding light on the need to bring a solution to recruitment and their payment issues that are being faced by the atoll’s health centers, the Councillors stated that it is important to ensure quality is maintained in the region.

Further, they spoke on the need to empower development for women, especially in regard to facilitate their ability to register and operate business ventures.

Councillors also urged the government to improve ferry services across the atoll.

Having listened to their concerns, the Vice President had assured the Councillors that the administration’s transport, health and decentralization policies are aimed at resolving such issues brought forward by Councillors.

Further, he assured Councillors that required measures will be taken to tackle the issues at hand after thorough discussions with the relevant ministries.
