Vice President Faisal Naseem has received the last group of returning Hajj pilgrims.

The Vice President greeted the returning Maldivian pilgrims at Velana International Airport on Saturday.

He inquired on the well-being of the returning pilgrims, who had gone to Mecca through Hajj Corporation.

Vice President Faisal had also been present to bid farewell to the first group of Maldivian Hajj pilgrims traveling to Mecca. He had assured the pilgrims that the government would closely observe and track their journey and progress through the pilgrimage.

The Vice President has said that the current government is focused on treating every citizen fairly and not allowing any form of corruption.

He also said that they are concerned that some Maldivians have to wait a long time before being allowed to travel to Hajj and that the government is always working to increase the quota.

Saudi Arabia permitted a quota of 2,000 pilgrims from Maldives this year.

The agencies permitted to handle the pilgrimage trips are Maldives Hajj Corporation, Zaee Group, Tazkiya, Al Hajj & Umrah Group, Mina Hajj & Umrah, and Acro Hajj and Umrah.

A Maldives Hajj Mission was also opened in Mecca before the Hajj pilgrimage.
