Maldives Police Service (MPS) has found a wounded man in Addu City’s Maradhoo district.
Police revealed that the man was found in the island’s lagoon at around 3:30pm and that he was rushed to the Hithadhoo Regional Hospital immediately, where he is being treated.
Officers did not reveal details or the extent of the injuries the man had attained, however, island residents have linked it to gang violence, over a theft case.
It is believed that the man was tortured and thrown out, and no arrests have been made thus far.
Police has taken on investigations into the matter.
