Second round of the Policy Dialogue between Maldives and Japan has been held on Tuesday.
While the first round of the Policy Dialogue was held in Tokyo, Japan in 2018, the second round was held Maldives capital city Malé.
The forum aims towards holding discussions on progress of areas of mutual cooperation between both countries.
Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel led the Maldives delegation at the dialogue while Director-General, Southeast and Southwest Asian Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Shigeki Takizaki led the Japanese delegation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed via a statement that Maldives and Japan discussed cooperation in areas of mutual interest including economic cooperation, regional and international issues as well as people to people exchange during the consultation.
