Maldives Police Service (MPS) has arrested a 22-year-old man under allegations of stealing a motorcycle in capital city Malé.

Police took the 22-year-old man under their custody under allegations of stealing a motorcycle a little past 6pm on Saturday.

While police have launched further investigations into the case, the motorcycle has since been returned to the owner.

Cases of theft and robbery had increased during the recently ended Eid-Al-Adha holidays.
