Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has begun draining floods in Lhaviyani Naifaru island.

Officers of the MNDF Northern Area began draining efforts due to heavy rain flooding Naifaru.

Water pumps are being used to drain the floods on the roads, stated the MNDF.

National Disaster Management Authority has stated that the roofs of 24 houses in Addu City and 15 houses in Fuvahmulah have sustained various damages due to the heavy rain.

The authority stated that they are working to assess the damages in all party of the country due to the worsening weather.
