A man arrested under robbery allegations in southernmost Addu City has been arrested and remanded.
During an operation conducted on Wednesday following the robbery report, police officers arrested a 31-year-old man.
The 31-year-old broke into a house in Hulhumeedhoo district of the city and stole MVR 1,300 along with several gold jewelries.
When presented to the Hulhumeedhoo Magistrate Court for his remand hearing, court had remanded him by 10 days.
According to police statistics, 249 cases of theft have been reported thus far this year.
Police received a total of 537 cases of theft during 2018.
