The projects include development of three water supply systems, one sewerage system, 11 water supply and sewerage systems, and 14 road development projects

Planning Minister Mohamed Aslam has said that the government has signed 36 projects worth a total of MVR 1.1 billion so far.

He said this while answering questions at the parliament on Wednesday.

Minister Aslam detailed that the projects include development of three water supply systems, one sewerage system, 11 water supply and sewerage systems, and 14 road development projects.

He also said that the government is in discussions to sign 41 more projects.

The Minister said that the government will not neglect any projects in the state budget and that the parliament will soon be given the projects schedule.

Planning Minister Aslam was summoned for questioning by Maradhoo MP Ibrahim Shareef over the delay in the development of the Maradhoo harbor. Responding to his concern, Minister Aslam said that the project was delayed to make an assessment over the island council’s request to change the size of the harbor.
