Maldives Police Service (MPS) has arrested an individual in possession of a hefty number of drugs from a local resort.
Upon being tipped off, officers at R Meedhoo police station and intelligence officers had conducted an operation following which they arrested a 30-year-old man on Friday.
During the operation, officers had confiscated 164 pieces of cellophane suspected to contain narcotics from the 30-year-old’s room on the island.
Meedhoo Magistrate Court has since remanded the man by 15 days and he is to be detained in a location allocated by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
