Speaker and former President Mohamed Nasheed has said that it is important for Maldives, India, and Sri Lanka to coordinate their military activities.
Speaking to RaajjeMV, Nasheed said the security forces of regional countries are now working together.
Nasheed said that spotting military officers of neighboring countries in an island should be taken as a positive result of this coordination, since cooperation between countries is important to improve security measures.
During his recent visit to Maldives, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for a global conference to stop terrorism. Nasheed agreed that SAARC countries should hold a global conference to address the terrorist threat, adding that he believes that Maldives, Sri Lanka, and India have similar views on the matter.
Nasheed recently visited Sri Lanka with a delegation of 100 people, including Vice President Faisal Naseem and Maldivian MPs, to assure the international community that Sri Lanka is still a safe country after the terror attacks on April 21.
