VP inaugurates Ihavandhoo speed ferry service, concludes trip

Vice President Faisal Naseem inaugurated the HA Ihavandhoo speed ferry service on Friday during his trip to North Thiladhunmathi Atoll.
The ferry service is scheduled to travel to some islands of North and South Thiladhunmathi Atoll. Vice President Faisal earlier inaugurated the Hoarafushi speed ferry service.
During a meeting with the island council, the Vice President also heard the difficulties faced by the people of Ihavandhoo. They also discussed the ongoing development projects, including the need to update the harbor, create proper waste management mechanism and to broaden the services provided by the Council.
Vice President Faisal noted their concerns and said the purpose of his visit is to work closely with the people in bringing development to the islands.
Faisal returned to Male’ on Friday evening after concluding his two-day trip to some Islands of North Thiladhunmathi Atoll.
During his visits to Molhadhoo, Uligamu, Thuraakunu, Hoarafushi, Maarandhoo and Ihavandhoo, he met with the island councils and toured different institutions and inquired on their situation.
