MCIF inaugurates South Asian Institute for Islamic Finance
South Asian Institute for Islamic Finance was inaugurated on Sunday morning

Maldives Centre for Islamic Finance (MCIF) launched the South Asian Institute for Islamic Finance (SAIF).

According to MCIF, the institute ‘will function as a regional hub providing academic opportunities in the field of Islamic Economics, which includes Islamic Finance and Halal Industry’.

At the launching ceremony held on Sunday morning, Minister of Home Affairs, Azleen Ahmed spoke regarding ‘the government’s initiative in the founding of MCIF, and the recognition and support provided by the government to establish SAIIF as a regional institute for the South Asian region to bring development and progress to the field of Islamic Economics’.

According to MCIF’s Managing Director Ibrahim Didi, ‘the key objective of the institute is to cater the growing need for skilled and educated Islamic finance professionals as scarcity in talent poses a significant impact in the growth and evolution of the Islamic finance industry’.
