A case against five members of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has been filed at the police.

The case was filed by Supreme Court Justice Abdulla Didi, on Sunday night.

Maldives Police Service (MPS) has confirmed this, adding that that they are assessing the case to determine whether a criminal investigation should be pursued.

Police did not reveal any further details.

The Judicial Service Commission suspended Didi last Wednesday.

While he had sought to nullify the decision through the Supreme Court, it issued a stay order in the case the next day; directed to all relevant institutions including the police.

Both the JSC and police have been investigating a bribery case against the justice.
