Maldives Police Service (MPS) has arrested 37 suspects from two houses in capital city Malé, following a drug bust.
Police revealed that the two houses in Galolhu-ward of Malé were searched under a court order on Sunday.
11 Maldivians aged between 19-42 were arrested from G. Pelican along with a 21-year-old woman and a 17-year-old.
Further, police arrested 24 Maldivians aged between 19-42 from a second location, G. Memory Villa.
All of the suspects involved in the drug possession case have since been remanded by three days by the Criminal Court, except for the two minors.
Police had found 81 packets suspected to contain narcotic substances during the drug operation, held as part of their ongoing efforts to end drug trafficking in the Maldives.
