A man has been remanded over his involvement in a confrontation between residents of K. Dhiffushi and suspected thieves.
The police service stated that the 32-year-old man was arrested for committing assault with a sharp object.
The Thulusdhoo court has remanded him for 10 days.
On Wednesday night, Dhiffushi residents attacked and seriously injured two men who they suspect to have stolen a safe from a local shop.
A local told RaajjeMV that on Thursday night, the residents confronted another one of the suspected thieves and used him to locate the stolen safe. He was attacked after the residents found the safe with the money missing.
