Riu Hotels & Resorts opens properties in Maldives
Both resorts were inaugurated on Friday

Renowned international hospitality brand from Spain, Riu Hotels and Resorts has made its maiden entrance into the Maldives tourism industry by unveiling two properties in the country.
The four-star Hotel Riu Atoll and five-star Hotel Riu Palace Maldivas were inaugurated on Friday by Minister of Tourism, Ali Waheed.
Minister Waheed was accompanied by Planning Minister Mohamed Aslam, Energy Minister Dr Hussain Rasheed Hassan and Member of Parliament for Kudahuvadhoo constituency, Ahmed Amir as well as China’s Ambassador Zhang Lizhong during the ceremony.
The first one, Hotel Riu Atoll is located in Maafushi of Dhaalu atoll and comes with 264 rooms with promising views and outstanding services while the second property, Hotel Riu Palace is located in Kedhigandu of the same atoll and both properties are connected by a walkway.
The resorts come with modern amenities and facilities such as gyms, spas and Jacuzzis along with private, luxurious and posh décor that can very well be expected from a world-class brand.
While guest can choose from a variety of gourmet including Asian as well as Italian cuisines at Hotel Riu Palace, the resort has five restaurants which are the Krystal, Yu Hi, Sofia, Palm and Dhooni restaurants. The five-star resort has 176 land-based villas and posh over-water villas with private pools, terraces and stairways leading to into the water.
