Shawarma Lounge, a food brand run under an Indian corporate house, has opened a franchise in capital city Malé.

The Shawarma Lounge serves Arabian, Turkish, and Indian cuisine and also has franchised outlets in Bahrain.

Robin Wall, telecommunications provider Dhiraagu’s Chief Financial Officer, had inaugurated the franchise.

Ibrahim Adil, who is the managing director of the company that franchised Shawarma Lounge, said that his vision is to have the outlet provide the best quality food in the country.

“There are challenges to this of course, due to the diverse nature of our cuisines we need to have access to ingredients that are scarce and not easy to have imported into the country” Adil said.

Shawarma Lounge is a subsidiary brand of India’s Om Ganeshaya Food and Beverages, which owns Juice Lounge as well, a brand that already has a franchise in the Maldives.
