Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) in cooperation with Maldives Police Service (MPS) has begun a program for MTCC bus drivers.

The program aiming to train MTCC bus drivers with road safety precautions, is an initiative of MTCC and is followed by a number of road accidents due to the negligence of bus drivers.

The program aims at educating the bus drivers on road safety laws and procedures and will proceed for three days.

60 drivers joined the first session of the program held on Sunday.

In the previous week, two separate bus accidents killed a Ukrainian tourist and hit a parked car, both due to the driver falling asleep behind the wheel.
