Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has formed committees to fulfill their parliamentary agenda, says party chairperson and MP-elect Ahmed Abdulla.
The committees are tasked with drafting the main ruling party’s bills to be submitted in the next parliament.
A total of five committees have been formed for the five main policies of MDP’s parliamentary agenda, which are justice, family, quality of life, the economy, and honesty in government.
Speaking to RaajjeMV, Ahmed said the committees are working with experts and the government to draft the bills and that they wish to have the bills ready before the start of a new session.
MDP won supermajority with 65 seats in the parliamentary election, requiring them to only need one more vote to make constitutional changes.
