New radiologist to begin services in Addu on Saturday
Addu residents have raised concerns over the poor health services in the region

The radiologist that was brought to Addu city Hithadhoo’s Regional Hospital will begin his services on Saturday, revealed the hospital’s Manager Shah Saeed.

The Egyptian doctor was brought to Maldives as the previous radiologist working in the Regional Hospital had been transferred to Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in capital city Malé.

The hospital has also been lacking an Orthopedist for four months, the hospital revealed.

As such, RaajjeMV understands that authorities are working to bring in an Orthopedist to the hospital on Saturday as well. The orthopedist is also an Egyptian national.

Many residents in Addu city have been voicing their concern over the lack of health facilities in the region even with the government change. As such, while many accidents are prone to occur on the link road of the city, the lack of orthopedic services in the region is a pressing issue.
