Authorities to empty Malé streets after new parking zones open
 
Authorities plan to open parking zones across the capital, in order to ease traffic in the crowded city

Malé City Council has revealed plans to vacate all parking zones in the capital city, upon the establishment of new parking zones.

City Council member Ahmed Zameer revealed that a project near the finance ministry will be completed soon, he said that they plan to open the parking zone within two to three days.

He added that two-wheeled vehicles can park there without a fee, while a fee is to be taken four-wheeled vehicles.

After the parking zone opens, Zameer noted that vehicles will not be allowed to park on the street, from Fen Building to Ghiyaasuddin School.

While the finance ministry is located on Ameenee Magu, Zameer added that the purpose of this is to ease in the area.

In addition, government has developed parking zones in Henveiru-ward of the capital city. When people begin using said zone, parking will not be allowed on the streets from the south end of Sosun Magu.

Further, Zameer stated that parking will also be prohibited from the north end of Sosun Magu after a parking zone is to be developed in front of Majeediyya School.
