Th. Vemandoo Council has shared the island residents’ needs and concerns with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

President Solih met the members of Veymandoo Council at the President’s Office on Sunday.

At the meeting, council members noted that island residents still lack some basic utility services and said that the island’s harbor cannot accommodate the high number of visitors to the island every day. They also raised the issue of undeveloped roads, without proper drainage systems.

President Solih said that his administration places high priority to resolving issues concerning the public and highlighted the reform measures being taken by the administration in empowering the local councils and strengthening the decentralized system of governance.
