The Supreme Court has begun an investigation into Husnu Suood, the president of the commission on deaths and disappearances.
The court stated that the former attorney general is being investigated for contempt over statements he made on RaajjeTV’s Fala Surukhee show, but did not detail which statements were the issue.
On the RaajjeTV show, Husnu Suood said he does not trust the Supreme Court judges and that they should all be dismissed. He went on to detail the reasons why he does not trust the judges including the February 1 order and the trial against the Elections Commission in 2013 on charges of contempt of court.
Suood said that the judges should be dismissed in a fair and transparent process in which they should be allowed to defend themselves.
He also emphasized the need for the government to make a roadmap on reforming the legal sector.
