MDP creates committees to oversee completion of pledges

Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has created five committees to oversee the implementation of the party’s parliamentary agenda and the government manifesto.

The committee members include ministers, MPs, senior officials of state-owned companies, and experts.

In a press release on Friday, the main ruling party stated that the committee was formed to coordinate the works of the government and the party to complete its pledges.

The committees are tasked with navigating the legal procedures in completing the pledges in the areas of justice, family, quality of life, the economy, and honesty in government.

MDP has won supermajority with 65 seats in the parliamentary election, requiring them to only need one more vote to make constitutional changes.
