The Maldives Police Service (MPS) has on Wednesday launched a terrorism awareness workshop for tourism sector operators.
The workshop was inaugurated by assistant commissioner of police Ismail Naveen, in an event attended by senior officers, officials of UK’s International Protect and Prepare project, as well as tourist businesses.
The workshop will help prepare businesses in the tourism sector for emergency incidents, through staff and equipment handling training.
This is the third workshop organized with the assistance of the International Protect and Prepare project, with the first being held in January, and the second in March.
