Dhiraagu marks providing high-speed internet to 75% of population

Telecommunications giant Dhiraagu has celebrated providing high-speed fiber broadband to 75% of the Maldivian population.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih inaugurated the celebratory event at Dharubaaruge on Sunday night.

Speaking at the event, Dhiraagu CEO and Managing Director Ismail Rasheed said that the company was the first to introduce mobile phone services and internet services to the Maldives in addition to improving the internet speed.

Highlighting the challenges of providing fiber broadband, Rasheed said that Dhiraagu has so far connected 58 islands to their fiber optic cable network.

He said that Dhiraagu always aims to provide the best services at the cheapest prices and expand its reach to all the islands.
