A Swedish consulate has been established in the Maldives.

The consulate was inaugurated by North Maafannu MP Imthiyaz Fahmy at a ceremony on Sunday.

Mariyam Waheeda, the Honorary Consul of Sweden to the Maldives, said the consulate will assist Maldivians and Swedes obtain passports, and provide other crucial services.

She said that the consulate will also be further developing the ties between both countries.

At the ceremony, Waheeda also introduced her consultancy firm TalkM, which provides public speaking, research, customer service, and public relations training.

The Swedish consulate and TalkM is in capital city Male’, at H. Coral Reef, seventh floor.
